Kosovo 14 years of state still saw stable economic diplomacy and economic attacks on diplomatic missions.
Since declaring independence, the country has been stuck in promoting local production, as well as its pre-world tourist capacity.
The business community estimates that Kosovo has failed in economic diplomacy, in the appointment of economic unions, respectively, which would lobby for the development of Kosovo's economy, for attracting foreign investment, as well as establishing economic relations with developed states.
On the other side of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Trade have chosen silence on the issue. Despite our insistence, they have not responded to Kosovo Preress.
The executive director of the American Economic Ode in Kosovo, Arian Zeka, estimates that economic diplomacy should be the priority of this government, even though, for 13 years, past governments have failed in this respect.
Zeka tells Kosovo that engagement in economic diplomacy would also empower Kosovo's subjectivity for new recognition.
The government almost fills its full anniversary, and the reason I made such a comparison or such a time reference is to show that the next 13 years, different governments have focused relatively little on empowering our capacities of economic diplomacy. Much more must be done in this regard. This should not remain only at the level of the declaration or a declarative commitment, but nevertheless we should see a much more serious commitment of the country's institutions. In this respect empowering imminent economic diplomacy that would also help empower Kosovo's subjectivism in the international arena. Why not because through commercial economic reports are often built and reports of co-operation with states that have not recognised the existence of Kosovo as is the case of Greece”, Zeka says.
Next, OECH leader Zeka has said that Kosovo has human resources and budgetary means sufficient to increase Kosovo's activity in the field of economic diplomacy.
Zeka adds that it is the last time that something like this will be done by this government.
This should not remain on the declarative level only. I believe we have human capacities, budgetary and financial capacities for living or increasing Kosovo's activism in the field of economic diplomacy. Economic attachés should be named in cities of states that have greater presence or greater economic activity on a global scale. We avoid the centers of countries, whether in Western Europe or the United States, or countries of Asia, but focus more on centers where there is greater industrial and economic activity. It's the last time something like this is done in this regard”, he points out.
In the Kosovo Afarism Oda, they have expressed disappointment at not developing economic diplomacy on the part of the state of Kosovo.
Kosovo's Oda of Afarism board Chairman(OAK) Skender Krasniqi tells Kosovo Press that Kosovo is the only state that has no economic attaché.
Krasniqi claims that the country must have an economic attaché around the world as soon as it can present its bid to do business.
We should have economic attachions in our embassies and the offer of doing business to be represented through economic attachés. We are the only country that has no economic attaché in any country. Then, it must be that the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the sector of the economy, lobbie more so that our demands for our demands that we have addressed in countries where we are having operating problems... in this way there will be an even greater security for investors and a greater increase in foreign investment in Kosovo”, Krasniqi points out.
The chairman of the Kosovo Economic Ode, Berat Rukiqi, declares for Kosovo Press that a real economic diplomacy would facilitate many processes for the country, even in political reports, including recognition of Kosovo and visa liberalisation.
This would also have impacts on many countries which are skeptical with processes in Kosovo, even as visa liberalisation is. And if there were greater economic communication, more trade exchanges, more investments from these countries, they would certainly see Kosovo differently. The same is true of places that do not know us. Therefore, an economic diplomacy would precede or facilitate many processes for political reports with those countries”, Rukiqi says.
The role of economic attachés is important in economic diplomacy for promoting values and capacities in all economic sectors.
