In his tour, Komssic said Bosnia and Herzegovina and Kosovo share strategic foreign policy priorities, such as NATO membership and the European Union.
He stressed that this goal is achieved only by co-operating with partners sharing the same values.
“encouraged and excited to improve the reports of our two friendly states, we are convinced that economic, political co-operation and any other kind of co-operation, but also the friendly reports between Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Republic of Kosovo will be of special importance to citizens of our states in a near future of”, Komsic has said.
Bosnia and Herzegovina does not recognise Kosovo's independence, which was declared on February 17th of 2008.
Bosnia's tripartite presidency is responsible for foreign policy. This presidency has voted for recognition of Kosovo's independence for the first time in mid-September 2020. But, the Serb member of this presidency, Milorad Dodik, voted against recognition of Kosovo, while the other two members -- Komsic and Sefik Dzaferovic of the Bosniak community -- voted for.
For a decision to be made by the tripartite presidency, it is required that there be unanimous votes.
However, Bosnia recognises Kosovo passports as currency documents, but Kosovo citizens who want to enter this state are required to be equipped with visas. In 2014, Kosovo imposed reciprocal measures regarding the visa regime with Bosnia.
