KFOR has announced that the exercise was conducted in table mode, with frequent installations of new information created to test the most sensitive aspects of crises and conflict management in a joint operational environment.
The purpose of the exercise, conducted under KFOR deputy commander, Brigadier General Luca Piperni, was to check the level of readiness in emergency management co-ordinated between international security organisations such as KFOR and EULEX”, KFOR reports.
KFOR says he is willing to approve any measures needed to keep Kosovo safe, in close co-ordination with Kosovo Police and EULEX.
“NATO-KFOR is to contribute to ensure a safe and secure environment and freedom of movement throughout Kosovo, as mandated with UN Security Council Resolution 1244. In the presence of any warning that might affect the security situation, KFOR is willing to approve any measures necessary to keep Kosovo safe, in close co-ordination with Kosovo Police and EULEX, for the benefit of people living in Kosovo”, the KFOR communiqué says.
