KDI: We cannot have good governance without transparent financing of political subjects

The Kosovo Democratic Institute (KDI) laments the failure of the principled vote of the Political Subject Financing Bill. Their municipality reportedly said that the lack of quorum during the voting of the bills concerned the lack of seriousness on the part of MPs, who through no voter turnout during the Assembly hearings are seriously damaging the functioning of parliamentary life in Kosovo.
The quorum loss during today's session and the failure of the principled vote of the Political Subvention Bill will further serve the lack of transparency and financial accountability, quality of democracy, as well as good government practices”, the KDI communiqué says.
The latter says that parliamentary political subjects position and opposition é have no reason for further procrastination of this bill, since the same is in line with international requirements and standards, respectively, the Venice Commission's opinion.
Therefore, KDI calls for the Political Subject Financing Bill to be considered and voted in principle as soon as possible, paving the way for review and eventually advancing it in the period between readings.
