Former I member SIS, Hysri Selimi sentenced for spying in Serbia's favour

On the basis of the Special Prosecutor's indictment, he has assisted Serbia's Intelligence Agency BIA.

According to the prosecution's body, he has met with the director for combating terrorism under BIA Igor Baback, and another official on the territory of the Republic of Serbia, as in Vranje, Nis and Bujanoc, who informed them on the basis of tasks they previously assigned to him and dealing with radicalised persons and the development of vahabishing currents in Kosovo, their influence, number and functioning among the officials (counts outside the Islamic Community's control).

The accused allegedly sent information to the Serbian BIA even regarding KLA members and killings during the war. The Special Prosecutor claims he even joined I The SIS was ordered by BIA.

In December 2022, Selimi has been sentenced to four years and eight months in prison for participation in terrorist organisation I SIS, where he served as administrator at the Bureau of Injured Soldiers under the administration of ISIS. The Constitutional Court Act confirmed in the Appeals found that he also had contact with other figures of the terrorist organisation that have been from Kosovo, such as Lavdrim Mujarri and Ridvan Haqifi.

The indictment says that the accused, according to the requirements and instructions of BIA officials (which he was previously equipped with smart phones and financial tools), promised to buy a house) on November 22, 2015, had traveled to Syria through Istanbul's airport with missions assigned by BIA.

Always according to the indictment, Selimi first joined the terrorist organisation I SIS, then sent information to BIA officials about the number of Albanian participation in I The SIS, organizing them and in which parts of Syria were operating.

While the indictment says that after returning to Kosovo from Syria and the prison's suffering for participation in terrorist organisations, Selimi had continued to meet with BIA officials, more specifically with the director for combating terrorism under the BIA and another official in Serbia, such as Vranje, Nis and Bujanoc, who informed them on the basis of duties they had previously assigned, and that they had information about radicalised persons and the development of velastic currents in Kosovo, their impact, and the functioning of <xMedifeconé <1-make>, where religious rituals are carried out, and other religious rituals.

The indictment reportedly rewarded for this information, BIA officials paid Selimi up to 700 euros a month, offering wise phones to communicate with BIA officials.

Through these actions, according to the Prosecutor's Office, Selimi has seriously risked and seriously damaged the constitutional legal order and security of the Republic of Kosovo, helping the Serbian BIA create a damaging framework for Kosovo citizenship.

Therefore, for these actions, Hysri Selimi was charged with criminal work “Spy” by Article 124, paragraph 3 concerning Article 77 of the Penal Code of the Republic of Kosovo.
