Humoll: No one told me there were people forbidden by Salih Mustafa

Former Llap Operative Zone member Fatmir Humolli has said in front of Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague that he has never seen or heard that Salih Mustafa has stopped or mistreated people. During his testimony in the trial of Mustafa, he has said that during the war he has not seen a building in Zlata [...]

Humoll, who is deputy of the Vetevendosje Movement in the Kosovo Assembly, has answered questions by Salih Mustaf's defence attorney.

Lawyer Julius Von Bone: Has anyone told you if Mr. Mustafa has ever kept people banned?

Witness Hummolli: No one told me anyone had been detained by Salih Mustafa.

Lawyer Julius Von Bone: Sir Mustafa himself has shown you that he has ever kept people banned?

Witness Hummolli: No.

Lawyer Julius Von Bone: Did he ever tell you he ordered people to stop?

Witness Hummolli: No.

Lawyer Julius Von Bone: Did he ever tell you he mistreated people?

Witness Hummolli: No.

Lawyer Julius Von Bone: Have you heard from anyone else during the war during the April 1999 period that Mr. Mustafa had mistreated, banned, or beaten anyone?

Witness Hummolli: From the superiors and soldiers I've known since I met them, I've never heard of them.

Lawyer Julius Von Bone: Have you heard from your family where they were staying? Or did the family members tell you that they had noticed or heard, or did they see people being detained or mistreated?

Witness Hummolli: My family didn't tell me there was anything like that.

Lawyer Julius Von Bone: During the time you yourself were at the place where you looked at these pictures yourself did you see that it kept people in it?

Witness Hummolli: No.

Lawyer Julius Von Bone: Have you noticed that any building there was especially guarded by guards?

Witness Hummolli: No.

Fatmir Humolli has declared that, during or after the war, he has not heard that Salih Mustafa committed any crimes.

“The BIA guerrilla's structure has never been mandated with arrest, worked in the city, and their main tasks have been informed of the positions of the Serb forces, of logistics, of the health needs of the military hospital that was in Potok and they beat themselves, in case of their own lives, otherwise they haven't had a mission in this period of military power in Pristina”, Humol said.

Humoll has said every BIA member has been able to take refuge in any Kosovo Liberation Army unit that has been on the outskirts of Pristina.

“The guerrilla participants have not been able to identify any superiors of the operational zone without the permission of Salih Mustafa, and for that neither has the commander of the operational staff been entitled to Salih Mustafafa [for organisational lines within the city, even people have had no opportunity to identical other structures without having to have a need”, the witness said.

While in his response to the prosecution, Humoll has said the BIA unit was not under the command of any UCK brigade.

He has declared that BIA was a unit in the summer and that the same was under the command of Salih Mustaf.

The Act against Salih Mustafa, who is the first arrested by the Special, was confirmed on June 12th 2020, as he was arrested on September 24th last year, on the claim of war crimes.

He is standing at The Hague's detention centre, while in his statement to the court, Salih Mustafa has been declared innocent.
