Heart: Kurti used independence day for attacks on media opposition

Today in the Kosovo Assembly, a solemn session for the 14th anniversary of Independence has been held. While Prime Minister Albin Kurti had the word, opposition deputies launched the hall.

Democratic League of Kosovo MP Armend Zemaj has indicated why his party issued the solemn session honouring the anniversary of Independence, while Kurti was speaking.

Zemaj said Kurt's speech was not in the spirit of the anniversary of Independence.

“The sentence was about the anniversary of Independence, was not in the spirit of the anniversary of Independence, as uniting all Albanians for the century-old aspirin for independent Kosovo and sovereign state. Anyone who uses that speaker today would have to be in the spirit of commemoration and honor for all those men and women, boys and girls who sacrificed everything they had for the freedom and independence of this country”, Zemaj declared for Express.

LDK MP said that at today's session, Kurti would have to honour those who gave their lives for the freedom of Kosovo, not use the day of independence to attack opposition, media, and all others.

“A day of honour for deputies of independence, like any civilized country that honours and remembers its sons, not to exploit the independence day for individual attacks and personal protection, whether against society in general, media, opposition, and all others. Unfortunately, this should not happen on the day that it unites all Albanians wherever they are, not only in Kosovo, but throughout which” live, Zemaj said.
