Next week, exactly Tuesday, February 22nd, the next meeting is expected in Brussels under dialogue between Kosovo and Serbia, at the level of chief negotiators.
He has confirmed this by answering a question of Radio Free Europe, Peter Stano, spokesperson for the European Union for Foreign Affairs and Security.
The next “meeting at the level of chief negotiators will take place in Brussels on 22 February, whose host will be EU Special Envoy Miroslav Lajcak. This round of meetings will serve to continue discussions related to implementation of up to date agreements and next steps in normalising reports between Kosovo and Serbia”, Stano has said.
Asked about the possibility that there will soon be a high-level meeting within the dialogue, between Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, and Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vuciq, Stano has replied that, “the development of such a meeting will become known at an appropriate time”.
EU sources have said that efforts are under way for a summit to take place before elections in Serbia, as such meetings have not occurred since last year. They have also said that the possibility of a high-level meeting will depend from the upcoming week's meeting to the level of officials.
Earlier, EU High Representative for Foreign Policy and Security Josep Borrell had said that “meetings would be called when there are clear signals from the parties that they are ready to make progress at those meetings”.
