Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan has condemned Russia's military action in Ukraine, calling it unacceptable.
This step, which we see as a country through international law, is an explosion for stability and peace in the region”, Erdogan said in a television address, writes CNN, translates Periscopi.
He has said he has spoken with the Ukrainian president and has given full support for Ukraine's territorial integrity.
“Technically, we condemn the situation when two countries we consider to be friends, such as Russia and Ukraine, have come to a situation where they are face-to-face with each other”, Erdogan said.
“We will do our part to ensure that our citizens and Tatar brothers in this region will be secure”, he said.
Erdogan spoke to Putin yesterday on the phone, saying he opposed the latter's steps for violating Ukraine's sovereignty. / CNN/Perscopi/
