Turkey's President, Recep Tayip Erdogan, has called Russia's decision on recognising the independence of Donetsk and Luhansk areas.
The NATO member is a maritime neighbour to Ukraine and Russia in the Black Sea and has good relations with the two states. Erdogan, who had submitted his readiness to mediate the conflict, has warned Russia of the invasion of Ukraine, while criticising the West over crisis management, writes The Guardian, Pryskopi is attending.
Speaking during flight to Africa, Erdogan said: “We see this Russia decision as unacceptable. We repeat our call for understanding of both partial and redefinition of international law by both sides”.
