Prime Minister Albin Kurti had a long part of the speech in the Parliament at the solemn hearing honouring the proclamation of independence against the media.
Part of Kurt's speech, there's Periscope:
Early injuries do not improve for a day or a year.
There's something the only government can't do and that's the perfection of our democracy.
Building democracy requires active and well-informed citizens and requires that each citizen and every institution do the job with the best intentions. The government has to do the best work, but so have justice and civil society and media and activists.
Each should contribute to the construction of the country we want.
It is the government's responsibility to prevent crime and corruption, but when it happens, it is up to justice to condemn criminals and corrupt people.
The government's duty is to do things in the sunlight and increase transparency, but the only government cannot protect democracy from disinformation.
This is the duty of everyone just as corruption undermines citizens' trust, disinformations undermine trust in independent media.
Dezinforms are a direct threat to democracy because they misinterpret truth and distort reality.
Often these deninforms come from foreign and foreign services, malicious actors aimed at the country's instability. We should all be careful.
