The US State Department has ordered the families of diplomats stationed in Belarus to leave the country due to increasing tensions in the region.
According to the DAS, an unusual and disturbing situation is presented in Ukraine with a Russian military presence along the Belarus border with Ukraine, reports Atish.
“Situate is unpredictable and there is added tension in the region”, the DAS points out.
The US had earlier advised its citizens not to travel to Belarus, while the country remains in the highest alarm category at level 4.
In mid-January, the US government reduced the embassy's presence in Kiev and urged members of diplomats' families to leave Ukraine.
