Luljeta Demolli, director of the Kosovar Centre for Gender Studies, says Kosovo citizens have patriarchal thinking. According to research, it turns out that 30 percent of them think that a husband should beat his wife up.
“From the research that we have carried out by human rights organisations, we see that Kosovo citizens also have a patriarchal mind. Some 30 percent of citizens in Kosovo feel that their husband's nature is being beaten up by his wife. 30 percent view this job as a cure, explained in Pressing.
“But we have made the laws and there are sanctions there, we have moved forward like Kosovo”, she added.
The “even where it applies (law) is patriarchal thinking and law enforcement dictates a lot of”, Demolli said.
