According to Serbian media, Dacic said Serbia was committed to finding a compromise solution to the Kosovo issue, adding that dialogue is the only way to that.
Lajcak has said that the EU's position is for elections to be organised in Kosovo as well, and that he has discussed it with Kosovo officials during his visit to Pristina this week, Dacic's Cabinet statement said.
He said dialogue is the only “process for normalising relations between Serbia and Kosovo” and added that after the elections in Serbia, space for its intensifying would be opened.
Lajcak said his joint visit with Escobar should show the entire region that the EU and the US have the same vision for the Balkans and that it is EU membership.
While Escobar confirmed the importance of a joint visit to Belgrade and Pristina, stressing that the United States wants to send a clear message to see the future of the entire region in the EU.
The EU-mediated “Dialog is the only mechanism the United States supports in resolving open issues,” said Escobar, expressing Washington's readiness to provide needed assistance and support.
