Ukrainian and American officials reported an explosion of vehicle in a Russian-backed separatist bastion is an organised attack to fuel tensions in eastern Ukraine.
Video from the city of Donetsk in eastern Ukraine featured smoke fire in a parking lot in a heavily damaged military vehicle near the self-declared headquarters of the Donetsk People's Republic (DPR)-one of the country's areas controlled by Russian seriatists, reports CNN.
Official channel The DPR said that “around 7:00 p.m. a car was blown up in the parking lot near the Government building. The blast wave has been heard from all over the city. Event”
“We think this is insinuation and provocation”, said Anton Gerashchenko, adviser to the interior minister of Ukraine.
An American State Department spokesman described it as “false operation” and said incidents such as vehicle blasts and calls by separatist leaders to evacuated due to alleged Ukrainian aggression represented further “efforts to obscure through lies and dezinforms the fact that Russia is the aggressor in this” conflict.
