One of Britain's largest companies, BP said on Sunday that it has decided to quit 19.75% of its shares in Russian oil giant Rosneft, the Guardian reports, broadcast Periscopi.
It is an important movement that can cost the company up to $25 billion, according to figures in its statement.
BP chief Executive Bernard Looney, who will leave Rosneft's board with Bob Dudley, the former executive director, said the invasion “na led us to radically reconsider the position of BP with Rosneft”.
He said he was “equally shocked and sad” from the situation. BP has owned almost one fifth of the oil giant since 2013, and it represented half of the oil reserves BP had on the ground, the Guardian understands. / P ERISCOPI/
