The boy has remained confined to a bunker in the northern village of Ighran, of Chefchaouen province, from Tuesday evening. Rescue workers said on Thursday they were able to send in oxygen and water and have received an answer from him.
I pray and beg God for him to come out of that safe and living bunker. Please, God, ease my pain and his pain, in that powder hole”, said the boy's mother to 2M television.
The child's father, Khalid Agoram, told another local broadcaster that he had been looking for the boy several hours before discovering that the child had fallen into the bunker, writes The Guardian, reports The Express.
Rescue workers used a rope to send an oxygen tube and water to the young boy, but they failed to penetrate the child's hole. According to the Moroccan news agency MAP, they also sent a camera to monitor the boy.
Five bodozers are also being used to dig a parallel hole with the bunker in an effort to reach the child, identified as Rayan. Local officials said rescue workers so far have reached a depth of 19m.
