They discussed efforts to reinforce the Allies' defensive position on the east side of NATO and their “preparedness to impose serious consequences on Russia if it chooses further military escalation”, the White House says.
“The leaders discussed their recent diplomatic commitments with Ukraine and Russia. They also reviewed continued diplomatic and preventative efforts in response to Russia's continued military establishment at the Ukrainian borders and reaffirmed their support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity”, the White House said further.
