Academy-based Agim Bahtiri, via a Facebook text, calls on Prime Minister Albin Kurti to stop all capital investments and address them in arming the Army.
Bahtiri writes:
Following recognition of Luhansk and Donbas' independence from Russia, and military entry into these areas by the Russian Army, the Republic of Kosovo must be very attentive to the situation in the north.
Since 1999, Serbia stands virtually in a position to annex Kosovo's north, but has always expected new geopolitical situations to arise that would favour it.
Following the invasion of part of Ukraine from Russia, even its ally in the Balkans, with Vucinqiqi leading, appears to be unwilling to maintain peace in our region.
I appeal to the Government of Kosovo that it halts all capital investment projects and the budget dedicated to re-determiting it completely to arm the Kosovo Army.
In May 2021, I signed contracts with the Ministry of Defence to provide 195 hectares of land in the village of Crnausha in Mitrovica for construction of the KSF military base, from which the north is fully monitored. Following current developments, the start of its immediate construction is an urgent need.
- Prime Minister Albin Kurti, I in Vetevendosje have come because I believe and believe you are fully devoted to protecting northern Kosovo, which was forgotten by the preliminary governments.
After the outbreak of conflict between Russia and Ukraine, the new global order tends to change, which is known that Serbia has always been and is Russia's tool for destabilising the Balkans in general and Kosovo in particular. So we must not sit back in the face of this situation, but arm our army for as long as possible, putting highways and similar projects aside for a time.
