Sweden has announced it will send military equipment and other aid to Ukraine.
Prime Minister Magdalena Andersson said it would be the first time Sweden would send weapons to a conflicted country since Finland's Soviet invasion in 1939.
Anderson said the shipments would include 5,000 single-use antitank launchers, 5,000 pieces of armor and 5,000 helmets, as well as 135,000 ration packages, the BBC writes.
My conclusion is now that our security is served best by us who support Ukraine's ability to defend against Russia”, Andersson said.
This comes after the European Union announced it would buy weapons and hand them over to Ukraine, which is the first time in its history to take such a step.
