Just a few minutes ago, the American television station CBS based on information coming from intelligent agencies says: The US has information that Russian troops have been ordered to proceed with the Ukraine invasion plan. The commanders of the Russian Army on the ground are working on preparing specific plans, reports CBC, which refers to Top Channel.
Recent estimates by the US government suggest that the number of Russian troops now located along the Ukrainian border -- in both Russia and neighboring Belarus -- is between 169,000 and 190 thousand.
Western officials have warned in recent weeks that Russia can prepare to invade at any time, but Russia has denied the claims, saying troops are conducting military exercises in the region.
On Friday, US President Joe Biden said it was now “convinced” that Russian President Vladimir Putin has decided to invade Ukraine.
Although for weeks he had said the US was not sure whether Vladimir Putin had made the final decision, President Biden said his judgment had changed, referring to the American intelligence services data.
President Biden reiterated his threat of imposing economic and diplomatic sanctions against Russia if it invades Ukraine, calling on the Russian president to reconsider his actions.
He said the United States and its Western allies were more united than ever to ensure Russia pays a high price if it is thrown into the Ukraine invasion.
