The Kremlin has said on February 24th that the purpose of the Russian invasion in Ukraine is “demilitarisation and denotation of Ukraine”.

Earlier Thursday, Russian President Vladimir Putin has argued the invasion of Ukraine, saying Moscow will attempt to demilitarise and “denaziise” Ukraine, repeating its baseless accusations made in a speech on 21 February, that the Ukrainian government is “neo-Nazi” aimed at having nuclear weapons.

“Ukraina must be released and cleansed by the Nazis, persons with orientation and Nazi ideology”, Kremlin spokesman Dmitry Peskov said before reporters in Moscow.

He has refused to provide more details when a journalist has asked whether he considers Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelenskiy and his government to be “nazi”.

Explaining what demilitarisation means, Peskov has said this process is “neutralisation of military potential, which has recently been increased due to the active efforts of foreign states”.

Responding to the question of how deep Russia plans to enter Ukraine, Peskov has said he cannot provide information concerning the military, technology and other elements of the operation.

The only source for those data is our defence institution, our army”.

“The conditions of the operation will be defined by efficiency, and of course determined by the Supreme Commander”.

Moscow's attack on Ukraine has started in the early hours of February 24th.

Missiles have been launched at airports and military infrastructure in about 25 cities.

Russian President Vladimir Putin has ordered <x0 special operation” to demilitarise Ukraine.

The Kremlin's action has stirred anger and has been condemned worldwide.

The United States and its allies have warned of severe sanctions against Moscow.
