Montenegro's new government must have 7-8 clear tasks, among them continuing the European road and preparations for the new tourist season, says Dritan Abazovic.
Montenegrin society is still polarised, said in an interview for DW, Dritan Abazovic, deputy prime minister in the mandate of the past government and the main candidate for future Montenegrin prime minister.
He would like Montenegro to be fully ready for membership in the European Union by 2025.
Abazovic estimates that many positive things, such as fighting organised crime and corruption, have been initiated in the 14 months of the rule of Zdravko Krivokapiqi, and that concrete results have been achieved there.
He stresses that changes in public administration are a gradual process, and states that a new <x0-seconds period of people has already appeared.”
“We are here to show that social cohesion is possible”, says Abbasovic, stressing that he would do everything to prevent the existence of “2 parallel states in Montenegro”.
The charges that he is working in service of several foreign factors -- “, for example, for Serbia or others” -- Abazovic replies that this is rhetorical of those who like divisions in Montenegro. He sees himself as a politician who “came out of the already existing cliche”. “E beat the Socialist Democratic Party (DPS) on August 30th” and now “should build system institutions”. The DPS has “copied” its mode of governance in many institutions and companies, and this has now been overcome.
Montenegro's new government must have 7-8 clear tasks, among which the main are “the unblocking of the European road” and preparations for the new tourist season. Abazovic calls these as key tasks “ ” and believes they are very specific, clearly different and selective. Especially if Montenegro “finds itself in a positive understanding” It joins and brings forward issues that are in the interest of “the overwhelming majority of citizens”.
Last government lacked the support of a functional parliament and a functional parliamentary majority. This must be unblocked now. But not by making new elections without electoral reform. It's time to get out of a primitive “perception of political reality”, says Abazovic, constantly stressing the need for Montenegro's “reconciliation”.
