On February 21, 1945, Shaban Polluza, one of the best - known commanders in Drenica's area during World War II, is killed in Trstennik, Drenica.

Shaban Pollusha comes from a medium - economic family. He was not educated, but as a young man, he was enrolled in political life, which he was imposed on the circumstances and injustices of invading regimes.

He faced Bulgarians and Austrians during World War I, and the regime of debt Yugoslavia. During the Yugoslav kingdom, he was placed in political life, chairman and deputy. He was often confronted by circles of the antipopular regime, and for a time he was forced to pass into illegality in Albania.

During the World War, the Second was the commander of a part of the front in Montenegro, Kolash and the New Market Sandzak, where they distinguished themselves for organisation and strategy. He was a member of the Council of Islihat (peaceable judges) and with Miftar Bajraktari's proposal, he is named chairman of Islihat in Drenica. Shaban Polluza also had political tactics.

He with political strategy had made some formal and deceptive link to communist circles, but in reality he never really accepted this ideology as ideology that would solve the Albanian issue. For this, the Paris and the Organising Council of the Skywright Assembly proposed it as commander of the Drenica Brigade. It is well - known that after the surrender of Italian fascist (September 1943) Supreme Headquarters UNCJ added its military activity to Kosovo and other Albanian areas and until November 1944 (but even earlier) in these spaces, numerous “units were formed U n NCJ”, ranging from checks, fields, battalions to brigades.

These partisan formations, even though formed on Albanian soil, did not form for the good of Albanians. In the second half of 1944, while the Allied (American-Greek-Russian) forces advanced on all fronts of the war against the Hitler army, Tito will exploit these circumstances, combat the Albanian National Defence Forces and retake Kosovo. To make it easier to realise its goals, Yugoslav leadership, in early January 1945 orders the mobilization of “The Cosmet brigade” to be sent to Serbia's so-called Sremit Front.

Although the centre of Albanian resistance in the second half of December 1944-January 1945 was concentrated in Drenica, ” Cosmet's operational staff”, introduced Shaban Pollusha to release Drenica and head towards Podujevo to join the VII Brigade, which was marching for Serbia.

The headquarters of Drenica Brigade out of Kosovo will condition it with the break-up of murder and plunder over the civilian population on the part of the Yugoslav Army, but after failing to submit Shaban Polouse on January 25th, military operations begin on a large scale to eliminate its Brigade.

Divisions 24, 26, 44, 46, 52 of Serbia participated in these anti-Albanian operations. Macedonia's divisions 41 and 50, Montenegro's Brigades Group (Bka's I brigade and 6th Brigade) and OZN special departments led by Spasoje Gjakovic. At the time when Yugoslav forces were conducting the bloodiest operations in Drenica on February 8, 1945, the supreme commander of J.B.'s UNCJ. Tito decided on special order No.31 military administration in Kosovo.

Tito made that decision on February 7th 1945 in Belgrade, at a meeting with Serbian military soldiers Savo Drevqi, Djuro Medenica and Krsto Filipovic. By this order, the entire power in Kosovo would pass a certain group of Serbian-Montenegrin military, who would exercise political, executive and judicial power.

This military machine in Kosovo takes all measures allegedly for “sweeping” of the field from “the remains of fascism “and “counterrevolutionaries” killed and slaughtered thousands of Albanians throughout Kosovo without mercy.

In this vicious military campaign on 21/22 February 1945, Drenica's uprising and the uprising of Drenica died after the murder of popular Shaban Polluza and Mehmet Gradica in the Devoan Towers in Trstennik.

Shaban Polluza in 2009 has been decorated with a “Kosovo hero” by former president Fatmir Sejdiu.
