Russia fired missiles into many cities of Ukraine, including the capital, Kiev, targeting air defence facilities and military infrastructure shortly before dawn Thursday, as it landed soldiers on the country's southern coast. The attack began shortly after Russian President Vladimir Putin announced on television what he described as a <x0 military suboperation”, which Ukrainians say is a full-scale invasion of their country, the second largest in Europe.
