The American Economic Oda in Kosovo has expressed its concern over Kosovo's ranking of the Heritage Foundation's Economic Freedom Index for 2022, where Kosovo's overall assessment is below the regional average.
” At a time when Kosovo needs to promote and attract domestic and external investments, Kosovo's low assessment of economic freedoms demonstrates the necessity of an active approach of state institutions to address issues related to the indicators of rule of law, government size and regulatory efficiency, with a focus on property issues, judicial efficiency, government integrity, tax burden, government spending, fiscal health, business freedom and labour freedom”, says further in the framework, the Klankovs.
The American Oda, among other things, says it is particularly concerned about the worsening five-year-old trend of economic freedom, where the country has scored at the bottom of the category of states with <x)
Therefore, the American Economic Oda in Kosovo called on the Government of Kosovo to pursue an active agenda of economic development, addressing in an urgent manner indicators with lower estimates. Voicing concerns over the fact that dialogue mechanisms like the National Council for Economics and Investments have not gathered for more than a year, the American Oda urges the Government to have active public-private dialogue which, among other things, benefits the country and its economic progress.
