Serbs in the north are not convinced to remove heavy trucks and machinery from the streets, despite international demand.
KFOR on Friday sought solutions through dialogue, for which it was highly criticised, because this mission was expected to remove barricades.
Prime Minister Kurti at a media conference yesterday said the situation created in the north cannot be tolerated until he announced that KFOR's commander will meet after Christmas.
“KFOR has asked for some time, we have given it some time. But today, two weeks have been set up, 11 barricades and they are hampering freedom of movement. KFOR has always pledged quiet and secure environment for freedom of movement. Freedom of Movement has been the main value KFOR-I has confirmed all these post-war years. So we've given KFOR time... KFOR has taken time, and since it is Christmas today, after Christmas we should have a meeting with KFOR commander. This situation cannot be tolerated. At that meeting we're expecting after Christmas with KFOR Commander, I believe everything will be cleared up and we'll give answers to”, Kurt said yesterday.
Interior Minister Jalal Svecla said on Thursday that Kosovo police are ready to remove the barricades, but have not yet decided on something like that.
