Stefanovic at RTK: Kosovo-Serbia Agreement made according to two Germanys model

“After a long time of being the leader of the Serbian side's negotiating group in negotiations between Kosovo and Serbia, I didn't think it would go that long, although it was mediated by the EU, we hoped to help people on the ground”, said former Serbian chief negotiator in Kosovo-Serbia dialogue Borko Stefanovovic, RTK writes.

On the other hand, he added that we have a problem situation, filled with tensions and problems, which we cannot solve all of them, so, he added, much must be worked out to avoid any possible confrontation in Kosovo.

“Dialogue launched more than a decade, now I see at a stage that unfortunately the Association has not yet been implemented, although it has been accepted by both sides since 2013, then the next problem is that Government Kurti continues with pressure on the Serb community in Kosovo, and is trying to break any agreement reached so far in technical dialogue”, Stefanovic said.

He further added that Prime Minister Kurti has unilaterally denied the agreement for the plates, denying the KS signs.

The Serb community's withdrawal from Kosovo institutions has been natural, and now we have a security vacuum with new potential crises that could arise”, Stefanovic said.

He confirmed that for the return of Serbs to the Kosovo institutions, the Association must be established, adding that from Washington and Brussels messages to Kurti to postpone the decision on the plates, as well as establish the Association of Serb-run municipalities.

“As neighboring peoples, we would like to negotiate to resolve disputes between us as quickly as possible on any open issue as possible, because we want to have the prosperity of Serbs in Kosovo, in peace and stability, this would be healthy and critical”, he said in RTK.

“Tarchs should not be something that one could lose his life, Serbia will continue with the characterism policy”, Stefanovic noted.

He further stressed that the Association for Kosovo is not an easy step to implement, but it has to, because Borell today and yesterday Escobar have been invited to implement association.

Linked to the Franco-German plan as a draft document for resolving the Kosovo-Serbia issue, Stefanovic said no one has seen that draft, so he did not prefer to make comments based on news published on different portals, but he said he should speed up the resolution of issues between the two countries. And for that, Stefanovic proposed the agreement under the formula of the two Germanys, which could implement some elements of that agreement.

According to Stefanovic, Serbia and Kosovo should continue dialogue as quickly as possible, as tomorrow even tomorrow, until he added that “Kurti risks the stability of his cabinet as well, if he still does so again”
