In the announcement made by the Police Inspectorate, Kosovo Regional Police Director in Northern Mitrovica allegedly committed criminal acts “Sabotim” and “Call for Resistance” set forth in the Penal Code of the Republic of Kosovo. Administrative responsibility will be considered in addition to the criminal investigation.

So, taking on suspicion of criminal acts in the investigation of this case, given IPK's legal authorizations, has been recommended.

Other investigative actions will be taken by IPK investigators in full co-ordination with the State Prosecutor.

Nenad Djurovic, Kosovo Police Director for the Northern region, appeared at the media conference Wednesday, where he said Serb members of the police force would not implement the government's decision to stop cars with license plates “KM” and document sharing.

Police patrols he said were sent by Pristina and without the knowledge of the North Police Regional Director.

We want to stress that the patrols mentioned by Pristina have been sent to the north without the knowledge and approval of the North Police Regional Director. In the past period, we also highlighted the General Police Directorate in Pristina and the international community for the presence of special police units and the formation of bases in our area of responsibility, even without our knowledge and disobedience, whose activities bring fear and unrest to people living here”.

This action directly undermines the role of our regional directorate, which here foremost is to protect and serve people living and working in northern Kosovo, without any national and religious affiliation”, Djuric said.
