“But ... I would like to see representatives of Kosovo and Serbia contribute constructively to enlargement. For example, explaining to Kosovo Serb citizens the reality that in Kosovo you should use Kosovo license plates”, Rohde wrote on Twitter.
However, he said Kosovo representatives and those Serbs should contribute constructively to extending the situation and that international partners' advice should be followed.
“More sense of sound on the license issue: We both the EU and Quinn have always been clear that Kosovo has the right to gradually remove KM plates and so on. This is in line with the Brussels” agreements, Rohde says, and adds: “We have also always been loud (on demand) for a longer transition period as envisioned in the agreement in question, to resolve the remaining technical issues pragmaticly. We still think our advice should be followed”.
