Bullets without deadline: Police breast exposed to danger cases

The Kosovo Police Procuring Office is experimenting with the tender for supply of bulletproof vests, whose term is 10 years. Now a year and a half this tender has attempted to realise, but it has failed because the tender procedures are not being conducted under the Law. In all these violations, police are not taking any measures to separate their procurement officials, which lets him know that everything is okay for him.

Periscope has asked the Kosovo Police Information Office whether any measures have been taken against procurement officials, but have not indicated anything concrete.

How did this tender begin

Initially, in June 2021, Kosovo police had opened tenders for the purchase of more than 3 thousand bulletproof vests for police officials. Their complaint has been addressed and then police have cancelled their first decision and decided to award contract to the company “Sodex Group”, worth 2, 758, 950.00 euros. The company has offered its excuses considering the elimination is unstable, but the same has rejected police procurement, so the company has then complained to the OSHP.
