Is Albin Kurti telling the truth about the US reports?

Relations with the United States have always been vital to the Republic of Kosovo. They have always played a very important role in the continued development of our country. But recently, at the time that Kosovo is being led by the Kurti Government, United States disappointment has begun to emerge. Implementation [...]

International pressure, especially American, intensified for the Government of Kosovo in terms of extending the deadline for implementation of the Targa decision.

On October 27, Prime Minister Kurti spoke to President Biden's adviser Derek Chollet on the phone, where it became known after an announcement by the prime minister himself, who did not elaborate on what was being said, except for some thanks the prime minister had made to the state friend.

A few hours later, however, the U.S. State Department Special Adviser himself indicated that during his conversation with Kurt he demanded that he postpone the decision on license plates. This apparently did not please the prime minister, who did not give this important detail to the public.

“I spoke with Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti today to discuss the importance of avoiding tensions and delaying implementation of new license rules without seizures or fines. We also discussed our partnership and common goals for advancing Kosovo's European and Euro-Atlantic integration”, Chollet has said.

First of American Diplomacy in Kosovo, Jeff Havenier has said it is important to avoid tensions and postpone implementation of the license agreement.

The key “to avoid tensions and postpone implementation of new license rules. We also condemn actions to fear or retaliate against those who have changed their license plates”, Horvenier wrote.

This requirement for delaying the deadline was made by American emissary Gabriel Escobar, who had declared that he had not received a positive response from the Government of Kosovo to his request.

On the other hand, United States Ambassador to Serbia Christopher HillI, he has declared that he is disappointed and concerned about Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti's decision not to extend the deadline for reregistering vehicles and passing from illegal KM plates to those RKS, despite calls from the US, the EU and QUINT.

The government of the United States, together with its international partners, has repeatedly asked the Government of Kosovo to continue implementing auto-registering. We are disappointed and concerned about the Kosovo government's refusal to accept the demands and advice of its closest international partners on the issue”, Hill said in an interview with the Serbian spirit medium Blic.

He added he welcomes the continuation of dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina under the auspices of Brussels.

“Call on Kosovo and Serbia to continue participating in the EU-brokered dialogue”, Hill added.

Also, the request to extend the deadline has joined the QUINT states.

But, Kosovo government, presidency, US, EU rule where they claimed they would not postpone that decision, saying it has sufficed last time.

Kurt's statement during yesterday at a media conference questions The prime minister's <x0).

The journalist's question slightly irritated the prime minister, who repeated the biggest name in the world (American) in his style twice: America, America (but not Amelika as once).

Will you listen to America or mess with America or do you understand? These things don't happen, you know, we don't have that kind of reports with the United States of America like you describe them as Grandpa and grandson. I don't know who's reading it to you because I don't think you're reading it yourself, and that's exactly who you think it is.

No one's move has ever surprised any American official, no European official. We are in constant contact with them”, Kurti said.

Today (November 8th 2022), opposition leaders offered to go to the meeting with Prime Minister Albin Kurti, after he called them yesterday. What is understood is at least by the opposition leaders' statements after meeting with Kurti. And the fact is that Prime Minister Kurti is not willing to testify to whether there is co-ordination with international partners ( The US and EU) for recent moves to the country's north. Memli Krasniqi and Lumir Abdixhiku raised these concerns after this meeting, until Ramush Haradinaj came out 20 minutes after the meeting, after saying that Kurti started with speeches but that he was willing to show why he broke the reports with America.

It is noteworthy to recall a statement by Prime Minister Kurti once for Albanian politicians and America, when in April 2019, Albin Kurti had launched citizens' gatherings in Vushtrri against Haradinaj's government and called for new elections.

Titled as a campaign against PAN Hayniaı, Kurti from Vushtrria had hit Albanian politicians who believe in American support, calling them corrupt.

“How to get an Albanian politician who says Amelika, Amelika, knows he's corrupt”, Kurti said.
