Women in Kosovo spend more time than non-paid working men

Research findings testify that while an average individual spends an average of 4.9 hours on unpaid care in Kosovo (directly or indirectly), women spend 2.7 hours or 44% more on unpaid jobs than men, women respectively spend 4.73 hours doing housework, 1.97 hours in child care and 1.15 hours in caring for seniors.
Meanwhile, men spend 2,97 hours doing housework, 0.95 hours in child care and 0.02 hours in caring for elderly people.
As for paid labor, women and men spend an average of a similar amount of time, women 5.6 hours, and men 5.7 hours.
According to recent estimates, of a total of 520,495 women (18-65) and 518.820 men living in Kosovo, the total value of unpaid care work in Kosovo is 2,824,248,757 Euro; respectively, 1,792,26,900m (63.47%) for women and 1,031,657,675 euros (36.52%) for men. This value of unpaid care work represents 33% of Kosovo's GDP, 22% women and 11% men.
