Ukrainian forces have promoted Russian positions in the occupied and illegally annexed region of Herson, targeting supply routes across the Dnieper River, as Kiev's forces seem to be preparing to launch a full attack on the city of Herson.

Ukrainian President Voldymyr Zelensky's office said 88 settlements in the southern region of Herson and 551 settlements in the northeastern region of Harkivi are “liberated”, while the counterensive of Ukrainian forces in Herson is continuing.

Kyrylo Tymoshenko, deputy head of Zelensky's office, published this data, which is the first since the Ukrainian Army launched counteroffensives a few weeks ago in Herson and Harkiv.

Meanwhile, Zelensky during a late 21 October address added that his forces are showing good “ ” results in regaining territory from Russian forces in Herson.

Ukraine is trying to expel Russian forces from Harrison, attacking them from the eastern part of the Winter River. However, Russian forces, located on the western shore of this river, including the city of Harrison, are reportedly close to losing their supply and reinforcements.

Natalia Humenyuk, spokesman for Ukraine's southern command, said the Ukrainian Army has hit the Antonivski Bridge over Dnieper during the night, while officials installed by Russia in Herson have set up police hours to prevent casualties among civilians.

“We do not attack civilians and settlements”, Humenick told Ukrainian television.

Ukrainian attacks have made the Antonivski Bridge impassable, forcing the Russian side to use ferries to move civilians but also to transport supplies.

On October 21st, Russia has sent thousands of mobilized troops to protect Herson, the General Staff announced.

Until 2,000 mobilised Russians arrived in the temporarily occupied region to replace missing troops and reinforce units on the contact line”, Ukrainian General Staff said through a statement to the media.

“at the same time, invading authorities have issued orders to prepare for the evacuation of workers of so-called Russian banking and health workers and teachers”, the statement said.

Officials installed by Russia are trying to evacuate up to 60,000 people from Harrison.

Zelensky also urged the West to warn Russia not to attack the dam at the Nova Kahovka hydropower plant on the Dnieper River. He said Russian forces have placed explosives inside the dam, which holds a large water reservoir, and, according to him, are planning to blow this dam. /rel
