Serbian MP with propaganda: Don't let Kosovo in KiE

Serbia's People's Party MP, Stefan Jovanovic, has called at the Council of Europe General Assembly not to accept Kosovo's application for membership in the Council of Europe. He did so by arguing with propaganda on the Serb situation in Kosovo. He said that based on the rights of [...]

He said that based on human rights and rule of law “is in contradiction the desire to become a member of Council”.

Kosovo's “Serbs have become the most endangered ethnic group in Europe”.

He said the possible review of Kosovo's membership application would be incompatible with the Council of Europe's current practices to accept states in the organisation.

“We call on the Parliamentary Assembly to reject the provisional authorities' attempt to join the KiE because it fails to meet the basic requests”.

Jovanovic's propaganda conflicted with Kosovo MP Saranda Bogujevci's speech, which also cited the history of her family massacre by Serbian forces while speaking about what Ukrainian people are going through.

We know exactly what you're going through. I myself am survivors of a massacre during the Kosovo war. We will always be with you in this war and in this war. We hope that soon this terrible war will end and that justice will prevail”.

At this assembly of Parliamentary Assembly for the first time, the word has been given to Kosovo.
