Last record: Over 100 thousand Albanians live in the Valley

The population registration process in Serbia, which started on 1 October and will be completed on Monday (October 31st), according to preliminary results in three municipalities -- Presevo, Bujanoc and Medvedja -- live in over 100 thousand Albanian residents. These results also refute the Serbian state authorities, who considered that only 5 thousand and 200 [...]
Also, these results deny the Serbian state authorities, which considered that only 5 thousand and 200 Albanian residents lived in the southern part of Serbia, based on the 2011 census, where Albanians had boycotted the provision at the time because census forms were printed in Serbian.
The preliminary results are that in the Presevo municipality with all 35 settlements, 58 thousand and 850 resident and non-resident citizens live at 11 thousand 573 households. According to information I have in Bujanoc there are over 54 thousand citizens, while in Medvedja over 8 thousand and 300 citizens”, the Chairman of the Municipal Commission for Recording, Hevzi Ramadani, told Kosovo Radio Television.
The first official results are expected to make public “Enti for Statistics” in Serbia by the end of November, while the final ones later in April 2023.
The registration process in the three municipalities of the Presevo Valley has been constantly monitored by representatives of the Organisation for Security and Co-operation mission in Europe (OSBE).
In the Presevo municipality, there were 73 recorders led by 12 instructors. In the Bujanoc municipality, there were 83 recorders led by 13 instructors, and in the Medvedja municipality, there were 21 recorders led by 4 instructors.
Otherwise, political leaders in Kosovo, representatives of Albanian political subjects and the Albanian National Council in Serbia have repeatedly called on Albanians to participate in the provision in Serbia.
Osmani: Tell them it's your lands, next week he meets with leaders
Kosovo President Vjosa Osmani, at a media conference, addressed calls to Albanians in the Presevo Valley, Bujanovac and Medvedja to participate in the population registration process that has started on October 1st and lasted until the end of the month.
She said Albanians should join Serbia's chauvinist policy.
While Serbia, through a shovinist policy, continues to use ethnic cleansing as an administrative tool to get Albanians out of the Valley, all Albanians must join forces by eliminating the obstacles Serbia is making in the registration process, during these weeks I have had meetings with local and international institutions, where I have raised this issue, I have asked that the internationals meet with the political leaders of the Valley”.
She also announced that next week she will meet with Albanian leaders.
This meeting, though scheduled to be held earlier according to Osman, has been postponed due to official visits by heads of state to other countries.
On Monday, it will meet with all leaders from Presevo, Bujanovac and Medvedja. All Albanians must join the registration process, as well as show that they are the land they have always lived in and that they will remain forever”.
Kurti: Pressing to Answer With Recording
Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti, through a video message on his Facebook profile, invited Albanians living in Serbia to respond to population registration.
“As prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo I invite Albanians living in Serbia -- particularly in Presevo municipalities, Medvedja and Bujanoc -- to answer the recorders, registering themselves and family members”.
He had declared that Albanians consistently face national and human discrimination in Serbia, so according to him, the call for registration is not only statistical, but response to oppression. The census, which begins today and ends on October 31st, is not just statistical issues for Albanians. I invite you to respond by recording. You respond to the progression by recording every Albanian. Even those found with temporary residences in the diaspora and Kosovo. Persistently witnessing that you're there”
