Ukrainian Association in Northern Macedonia has protested Monday before Russia's Embassy in Skopje to reject Russian missile attacks in several Ukrainian cities.
The directors of the association, which gathered mainly Ukrainian nationals who fled Ukraine because of Russia's aggression, said Monday's attacks were aimed at intimidating Ukraine's people, but that, according to them, would not deter them from fighting Russian aggression.
“With Monday's grants, (Russian president Vladimir) Putin wants to scare us by bombing energy capacities to leave us in the dark, without heat and electricity. But we do not give up, we do not fear. We'll stay and make it. They are terrorists”, Oleksander Urbanovic, chairman of the Ukrainian Association in Northern Macedonia, has said.
Northern Macedonia has condemned the 10 October Russian attacks on civilian targets in several Ukrainian cities, including the capital, Kiev.
Foreign Affairs Minister Bujar Osmani said on October 10th that Russian attacks are unacceptable and that their authors must be brought to justice.
The Republic of Northern Macedonia strongly condemns such unacceptable actions committed by Russia, which resulted in innocent human victims. The authors of the attacks must be brought to justice and held accountable for war crimes committed”, Osmani has declared.
He said that North Macedonia strongly supports Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, while calling for the immediate interruption of fighting and the removal of Russian forces from Ukrainian territory.
“We reconfirm once again our solidarity with the Ukrainian people, as well as our firm support for Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, calling for the immediate interruption of all hostilities and the withdrawal of Russian military forces from the country”, the minister Osmani said.
Since the first days of Russian aggression, Northern Macedonia has given support to the government in Kiev, respecting Ukraine's sovereignty and territorial integrity, while supporting all sanctions against Russia.
Russia has placed northern Macedonia at “the group of non-friendly states”.
Macedonian officials in some cases have accused Moscow of interfering with internal affairs and spying activities, so in the past two years, 11 Russian diplomats have been expelled.
The war in Ukraine has begun on February 24th.
Russian President Vladimir Putin calls the war “special military operation” to demilitarise Ukraine.
The West has responded to Russia, striking the economy of this state with severe sanctions.
As a result of the war, thousands have died, and millions of others have been displaced from their homes.
