MBP reduces passport delivery, next week risk of halting total production

If passports were produced on daily bases as much as required, today production has been reduced to about 70 percent. That's because the MPB is out of material for their production. It's actually being operated on just as much as it has on stock, because even the tender validity for personal identification documents expired last month. Based on the passport issuing performance, Periscope has learned that there is danger that since next week all of their production can be halted except for emergencies.

At the MPB, they have acknowledged that there are document supply problems, but have not specified the problem of passport production. They have said there is a reduction of production capacities as a preventative measure of difficulties in supply of documents according to planning, which has resulted from the overall global crisis caused by pandemic and war in Ukraine, respectively.

The projected value of the contract is 12,5244,000 euros. This public framework contract will have 36 months of length and is effective from the date it goes into effect.

In this tender, in addition to supply with ID, driver's license and several other documents, supplies of 660,000 regular passports, 155 diplomatic passports and 15 official passports are also required.
