Houvenier says the language in the Kosovo Parliament regarding the Civil Code is not appropriate, adding that he hopes he will be more cautious in the future.
“The US and our partners have worked with a number of authorities in Kosovo to help update the Kosovo Civil Code. It's a necessary law because this country needs a civil code of the century. XXI, which he does not currently have. When he first came to the Assembly, we were disappointed by some of the rhetoric we heard, especially with regard to some Kosovo citizens who are gay. We did not think that it was a suitable language for a Parliament, and we would hope that the language in the future will be more careful. We also hope that the Civil Code will be adopted. It would be important for this country and its progress”, American Ambassador Havenier said at ATV. / PERISCOP/
