Tetovo businessman Kasam Zendeli, who for more than 10 years exports milk products to Kosovo, says the opening of a customs terminal at the Jazynica-Globocic border crossing would cut the time of export of goods to Kosovo.
“This action would be welcome because it would cut the time of the return of the merchandise from Tetovo to Pristina. Currently to send a truck with goods up to Pristina goes 9 to 10 hours, with long receptions at the Blace terminal”, Zendeli stressed.
The opening of this terminal is also called for Oda Econonice of Northern Macedonia. Its leaders appreciate that opening a joint customs terminal would facilitate work
The business would have a positive impact on both countries' economy.
The “given that all the goods with Kosovo are in circulation with just one customs point we decided to make a request, which was not supported by the infrastructure needed for a customs terminal, but would facilitate business work, whether Kosovo or Macedonian. Meanwhile, the Kosovo government came to the aid with what it said we make the customs terminal joint. She was convening us because with a customs terminal the two actions are done”, she said about RTK at Menderes Kuci, chairman of the Northern Macedonia Chamber of Economics.
Construction of the new customs terminal between Northern Macedonia and Kosovo, Kuci says it would be a major contribution to the Pollog region's businesses, which, instead of making 60km of roads to Blace, would arrive at Jahjnica in 20 minutes.
If we want to facilitate doing business, it's a big help, because it's daily costs, whether it's paid or pending. There is often a collapse of goods and democratization to do business. As a visionary that we are and that we know how things have to go, we know that a benefits set for him has”, Kuci added.
In the Pollog region alone, about 11,000 companies are officially registered. For most of them, Kosovo is one of the most important export destinations.
