Guterres told the BBC that if we are unable to change the current trend, we will be sentenced.
He added that current global problems such as inflation, the Russian invasion of Ukraine, and high energy and food prices are distracting governments. “Bring climate change to the center of international debate”, he requested.
UN chief insisted leaders should not abandon key goals, including keeping global temperature up to 1.5 C, in order to avoid the worst effects of climate change.
