Besides the physical and psychic violence the 48-year-old Skenderaj had experienced by her husband, he had tried to kill her earlier, as revealed in the prosecution's request for detention. According to this document, the deceased in August last year had managed to escape from him until he had reported the case, since, as he said, she did not want to leave her children and hoped that her husband would change. Police have already reasoned on its officials' actions
Even a woman's murder has highlighted the neglect of justice institutions.

Qerimaj, 48-year-old, was killed at noon on January 5th, by her husband, with whom she now lived 20 years.

The deceased, in which six bullets were fired, had denounced her husband for domestic violence, but the institutions had not taken this seriously.

Her husband, Skender Qreimaj, had even tried to kill Freedom a few months earlier. One of her children spoke of this, who in the prosecutor said that in August 2021 his father had attempted to kill their mother by night in sheets and that the deceased had already escaped.

Dad used to tell your mother, "Get out of the house," but others told her mother, and you didn't deserve anything, but we never told her. In August 2021, Dad made an effort to break it with sheets on the night he was asleep, but the mother fled to the children's room, but the case was not reported in hopes that it would be well”, the child said in his testimony.

But violence against freedom had not stopped. Just five months after the attempted assassination, her husband had continued to physically and psychologically assault her, for which she had decided to report her to the police on the first day of this year.

In the Mitrovica Constitutional Prosecutor's detention request, which KOHA owns, there is also evidence of what he had declared and felt the day he denounced him. She had said that her husband repeatedly caused physical and psychic violence, but she had not reported earlier that she thought she would pass by and that she did not want to leave her children. She had even requested a defense warrant because her husband had driven her away from home, which was offered by responsible institutions on the day of her death.

For this through a communique, Kosovo Police have argued that all necessary actions have been taken in the case and that the parties had been sent to the Police Station in Skenderaj. However, no signs of violence had been observed in the victim, as stated by them, nor did the same suggest that he was beaten by his spouse.

For violence exercised against Freedom, the suspect himself is already in custody, but he says not to remember how he fired the weapon in its direction. Before the police he declared that at the critical moment he wanted to leave the house, but that he was fired on the deceased weapon, and that, according to him, he could not remember how the shooting happened. Although the suspect has claimed no disease, his lawyer has requested psychiatric examination.

In view of the KPPRK's 508 provision or article, as well as Article 146 of the same code, I, as a defender, have proposed that against my defense the court order psychiatric examination in order to have a fair trial regarding the actual situation. Because as a protector, I considered that the alleged criminal act was committed in a state of reduced mental capacity”, attorney Elvir Imer said.

In terms of being released by the suspect, even after being denounced by the late one, the Office of the Chief Prosecutor of State and the Minister of Justice has reacted. They have sought to take the necessary actions against prosecutor and court officials, who have been involved in the case.

Months ago, the failure to take action by relevant institutions had led to the 18-year-old murder of Ferizaj, Marigona Osmani.
