White House spokeswoman Jean Psaki said the United States “never ruled out the option of providing assistance to countries on NATO's east wing even before any invasion of Russia's” in Ukraine.
President Joe Biden met with the national security team at his residence in Camp David on Saturday, when he was informed of options for placing American troops in Eastern Europe in response to the increased deployment of Russian armed forces along the Ukrainian border.
