The zero patient is said to be a returnee from Cameroon, and experts assume that a possible new species could come from this Central African country.
The new type has been discovered by experts at the University Hospital in Marseilles and has been named temporarily B.1.640.2.
In a feasibility study, French government experts have identified 46 mutations in the variant and have claimed that the new version could be more contagious than the original kind.
