For the 100th anniversary of diplomatic relations with Great Britain, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs had meant a conversation with young students and diplomats. Among those invited to the event was the United Kingdom special envoy for the Western Balkans, Sir Stuart Peach.

I want to see the Western Balkans stable not only for the Western Balkans, but for Europe and all of us committed to helping you on your Euro-Atlantic trip”, Peach said during his speech.

One of the questions being asked to Peach was that for “Open Balkan” and Rama's statements that this initiative does not prevent the Berlin Process. The special envoy said the UK supports the initiative as long as it does not create competition in the region. He even views these two initiatives as equivalent to each other.

We respect Albania's government and sovereignty. These are initiatives that will be complementary to each other and should not be seen in the race between those who existed and these new ones. These initiatives are inclusive for the region. We should congratulate them and support them in order for the entire region to work together on issues that are new and even old to try to find solutions. We really support him as long as they don't create any competition”

Peach said he praised Albania's role as the stabilising force in the region.

<x0) NATO understands professionalism, the dedication of your armed forces. This goes beyond. All your society and we have to continue this 100-year friendship and translate it into multiple possibilities. We need your creative minds and I believe we will find other ways to unite the young people of these countries”.

Meanwhile, Minister Gacka in a video conference said he is grateful for Britain's support in Albania's democratisation process.
