Early this month, Turkish President Recep Tayip Erdogan has warned the changes by changing internationally the name known as “Turkey” to “Turkiye”, broadcast Telegrafi.
The word Turkiye presents the culture, civilisation and values of the Turkish people in the best possible way --”, says the Turkish television statement.
Changing a country's name is not uncommon.
TRT takes the example of the Netherlands, which changed Macedonia's name or case, which recently after several annual negotiations with Greece agreed to the name Northern Macedonia.
Iran in 1935 changed its name, formerly called Persia.
