Serb parallel authorities in Kosovo last month are taught that they have signed tens of thousands of euros' contracts to buy several security cameras, digital recorders and other equipment from the company “Zheiang Dahua Technologists, which is part of the American blacklist, to monitor schools in several countries, according to provided documents.
It emphasises that a Serbian Government Office, which cares for reports with Serb majority municipalities, has secured the fund.
Kosovo's central authorities, including Government, Police and Customs, have silented or said they have no information on Belgrade's plans.
The scheme is believed to contribute to companies whose presence Kosovo has opposed. It's facial identification technology and other technologies based on artificial intelligence, of companies “Hawawei”, “Daha”
Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq has always defended Beijing in foreign policy and praised Chinese investments, especially in the technology sector. China continues not to recognise Kosovo and no diplomatic reports with Pristina.
“If China wins territory currently and in the future for digital infrastructure in the region, it could be considered a security risk not only for the region, but also for the US”, Stefan Vladisavev of the Belgrade Security Forum said.
China aims to advance “Wise Cities” by providing technology to help governments and municipalities control citizens equipped with official documents.
In an answer this week to REL, Vladissavev has said he thinks that the agreement with “Dahan” is not a big deal, but has added that this shows the disorderly state of management of Pristina over authorities in northern Kosovo.
Serbian parallel institutions in Gjilan have signed an agreement on 16 December to buy “Dahas” equipment worth 39 thousand euros. The purchase was made through the company “Neva Company”, which was registered by Serbian authorities in September.
It specifys the purchase of 196 surveillance cameras known as “lead camera”, 30 hard drivers, 30 recorders and 9000 meters of cable. The transportation, installation and operation contract lasts 30 days.
They will serve in 30 areas, most schools, in 12 areas.
“Neva” is registered with office in Ranillag, according to the Serbian business registry. But she's not even registered in Kosovo.
