Thousands of people marched against a new agreement the prime minister had made to share power with the military, which had made a stamp in October.
With cheers like “Power, the people”, protesters sought a return to full civilian rule.
Yet, military forces again responded strongly, leaving two men dead.
Mr. Hamdoc to resign leave the army in full control of the country.
In a TV address, Mr. Hamdok said the country was “in a dangerous turning point that threatens its own existence”.
We remember that Sudan had tried to pass into democracy after the popular uprising of overthrowing authoritarian leader Omar al-Bashir in 2019. /Periscope
