A rare operation is performed for the first time at KKUK's Neurokiurgy Clinic

Through an announcement, SHSKUK has indicated that for the first time in this clinic, the removal operation of the hippophyse tumor (hormonal glands in the brain) has been conducted via the nazale route with transphenoid approach.

“Within the framework of establishing the quality of health services, thanks to the commitment of the Ministry of Health and the management of the University Clinical Hospital Service of Kosovo, to the Neurokiurgy Clinic at QKUU, the first time, the operation of displacement of the hypophosis tumor (monal gland in the brain), has been conducted through the nazale with transphenoid approaches.
The professional neurosurgeon team was led by Prof. Mentrol Petrela, accompanied by neurosurgeons from Kosovo”, is said in the USKKUK report.

It also becomes known that the cooking was successfully completed and the patient is currently in stable health condition.

“This success has been achieved thanks to institutional co-operation between Kosovo and Albania, which will further expand”, said at the end of the communique by USKKUK.
