“The KKP has long announced to all international and local partners with the agenda of its 208 meeting, where it was designated as the agenda nominated for the Competition's announcement to elect the new State Chief Prosecutor.
The Kosovo Prosecutorial Council, as it has decided to announce the contest, based on legal deadlines, will continue all procedures until the election of the new prosecutor, respecting laws and other underground acts regulating this process”, the communiqué says.
This institution has said that even in this process it will invite international partners for monitoring in order to make the choice of the new head prosecutor of the Republic of Kosovo transparent.
Kosovo's “Prosecutorial Council highs up the continued support the international partners are giving, so it will also continue to co-operate for all processes of the Kosovo prosecutorial system, with the aim of strengthening and the continuing increase of the efficiency of this system”, the KKPK's communiqué reportedly says at the end.

In a British Embassy response, they have reportedly offered support for the recruiting of the chief state prosecutor, while awaiting answers from the KKP, have been surprised at yesterday's decision.
The British “Embassy has been supporting the Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPK) for years. Recently, we have also provided support for recruiting the chief state prosecutor's position. While we were expecting answers from the KKP, yesterday's decision to declare the position without our support, was surprising”, said in response.
With this move, according to the British Embassy, the KKP has lost an opportunity to witness partnership and transparency.

Kosovo Prosecutorial Council (KPK), January 12th, 2022, at its 208th consecutive meeting, respecting legal deadlines, respectively. 06/2019 for the appointment of Chief State Prosecutor and Prosecutors Prosecutors of the Republic of Kosovo, which stipulates that the contest is announced at least 90 days before the end of the current State Prosecutor's mandate, has made a decision to announce the Competition's election of the new chief state prosecutor.
